Trials and temptations are part of our lives because of the state of our being and the reality of the presence of sin. Because we’re sinful on the inside and we live in a world marred with sin which lies in the power of the evil one, we are constantly being tested or tempted, depending on the outcome. So this episode in the life of Christ, gives us great hope in our predicament, primarily because the Son singlehandedly overcame the devil, but also because we can learn from Jesus how to prevail in our own trials.
