Matthew 3-9

God created us as sexual beings to enjoy intimate relationships in the covenant of marriage for the glory of God. Sin, however, perverted everything. But our sexuality matters a great deal to God! The 10 commandments stress that importance. And Jesus stresses its importance for us today. As we study this text, my prayer is that we listen intently, and as the Spirit exposes our hearts, we do not hide, we do not run, we do not resist the mirror. Instead, in humility, we must look to Jesus for grace and restoration.

When it comes to the 7th commandment (sexual purity),

1. The Crime is More Severe Than You Think (27-28, 31)
2. The Cause is Much Deeper Than You Believe (28-30)
3. The Consequence is More Damning Than You Anticipate (31-32, 29-30)
4. The Call is More Radical Than You Expect (29-30)
