A week ago, the leadership of GraceHill Church decided to move our church ministries to another facility. Here’s all you need to know:
We have been without a “home” for two years. During this time, the Lord has been so gracious in granting us three different meeting places (Grace Family Church, Mesa Verde HS, Auburn). In our current location (Auburn Blvd), we do not have enough worship space or classroom space for our children. We want to serve our members and guests better and make room for more individuals and families to hear the good news of Jesus.
Starting Sunday, March 7th, 2021, we will be gathering weekly just 1.2 miles (see map) from our current location at Oak Point Events. Our new location is 5051 College Oak Dr, Sacramento, CA 95841.
Yes and no. This facility is an upgrade in just about every way: Large worship space (more than we currently need), classrooms and offices, and more open space for mingling. We will have the full 24/7 use of the building (except for a few rooms). Our Sunday Worship Services will continue as usual at 10 AM, but now with the additional space, we can minister to our children, which we hope to resume upon entry.
We are excited about this move for a few reasons. First, it allows us to serve our current members and guests better. Over the past couple of years, our media and setup/teardown crews have worked tirelessly to get our meeting place ready for the rest of us week after week. We are excited to finally give them a much-needed rest. Plus, they can continue to focus more on training others than setting up/tearing down equipment. Second, we can now expand our ministries to children, students, and others with the available classroom space. Third, the extra space allows us to make more room for more people to hear the gospel of Jesus Christ. We are also excited to have a space that is uniquely our own (although we’ll be sharing the main worship room with another church) and is more conducive to our ministry.
First, pray. This opportunity has been God-sent, and we want to continue to be sensitive to His leading. We believe this is not just an opportunity to get into a better space, but it’s also an opportunity to refine and improve all that we do. As a young church, we are learning and growing, and we want to continually get better at stewarding and shepherding the people God has brought to us and the people he is going to bring.
Second, serve. We will need more volunteers in just about every area of ministry - worship, children, administration, ushering, hospitality/welcome, design/print, and more. If you could be on one or more of these teams and commit for the next 6 months, that would be amazing. The quickest way to get into a volunteer position is to fill out this form or contact Kirill Belyakov or Oleg Polezhako.
Third, invite. Some of you were hesitant to bring someone along with you to our Auburn facility because of limited space. Now, this will not be a problem. Please prayerfully consider those who may need to hear the Gospel of Christ or be strengthened in their faith, and invite them. For our part, we will love and serve these guests for the glory of God.
