Greetings, GraceHill family!
Five months ago, we began preaching through 1 Peter, a short letter we chose to encourage us by the Spirit to grow in three key ways: deepening our love for the Lord who gave us a new identity, increasing our obedience to Christ by following His example, and strengthening our perseverance, trusting that no matter what we face, the Chief Shepherd will bring us safely home. Looking back, I trust you’ve been impacted in these areas and beyond.
We wrapped up that series two weeks ago, which naturally raises the question: What’s next? Rather than jumping straight into another New Testament letter, we believe a brief detour into the Old Testament will benefit us all.
This Sunday, we’ll begin a four-week mini-series titled "Relating to the King," exploring the life of King David in 2 Samuel. We’ll focus on three key passages—2 Samuel 12:1-5, 16:5-14, 21:1-14, and 23:1-7—under the sermon titles The King’s Restoration, The King’s Confidence, The King’s Atonement, and The King's Reflection. Each week, we’ll unpack how these stories not only reveal David’s relationship with God but also point us to Jesus, our ultimate King.
Following this mini-series, we’ll celebrate Baptism Sunday, Good Friday, and Resurrection Sunday services. In May, we’ll begin a new preaching series on 1 Timothy—more details to come later!
In Christ,
Tim Vusik
